Grass-track harness racing will return to Kilcoy on Friday, January 26 as part of Kilcoy Race Club's Australia Day dual-code meeting.

The Aussie tradition continues at Kilcoy Race Club in two weeks time when it hosts its annual dual-code Australia Day race meeting on Friday, January 26.

A six-gallop race program, together with a three grass trotting race program and three mini trotting races plus 60-metre sprint races for adults, teens and children will be highlights on the day.

The best original Australia Day dressed fashions for the day will be voted by the applause given by the crowd for each entrant that will be paraded on the race track.

A strong ring of bookmakers and Ubet will be operating on all gallop and grass trotting races.

Food stalls operating include Kilcoy steak sandwiches plus all the country cooked food the dining room will have prepared and of course, plenty of cold drinks to quench the thirst of patrons.

The three grass trotting races are set down to start at 11.52am, 12.22 and 12.57, followed by six gallop races with race one at 1.33pm.

In between the races will be three mini trots, 60-metre sprint races for adults, teens and children, which will carry good prizes for the winners and the appropriate Australia Day dressed fashions will be judged.

Free services to leading sires Top Echelon, Worthy Cause, Hvasstan, Mahisara, Wanted and Golden Archer will be offered to the winning connection of each thoroughbred event, compliments of Shane Chataway, Clear Mountain Fairview Stud, Wattle Brae Stud and Raheen Stud.

Thoroughbred nominations for the meeting close at 11am, Monday January 22.

Gates open at 10.30am.

Admission is $10, children under 14 years of age are admitted free.
