CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - A field of seven hot horses will collide in the Thursday evening top class at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

First race post time is 6:30 P.M. for the 12-dash Thursday program with the $2,200 top pacing class lining up in race 11.

Give Em Heck has rail control while riding a three-race win streak into the event for driver Gilles Barrieau, trainer Jackie Matheson and owner Colin Sheppard of Spaniards Bay, N.L.

The seven-year-old son of Perfect Union has been impeccable since teaming up with Barrieau this season as the pacer remains undefeated while the New Brunswick teamster is at the lines. Nogreatmischief draws post 6 but has strung together four straight top two finishes leading into Thursday's race for trainer-driver Walter Cheverie.

Narragansett also has yet to miss the top two so far in 2018 with Jason Hughes at the lines for Ashley Gamester of Hunter River, while post 2 starter Dilans Mustang is fresh off a victory in 1:57.4 for driver Ken Murphy.

Race analyst Les MacIsaac uses post position as a deciding factor in his Thursday evening selection as he chooses Give Em Heck to land in the winner's circle.

"Give Em Heck is steadily climbing the class ladder but he's yet to taste defeat since teaming up with Gilles and lady luck seems to be on his side draw day.," MacIsaac said. "With what appears to be another easy path to the front he's hard to go against."

Other entries include Stars Above (Driven by Steven Shepherd), Dial The Bossman (Mark Bradley) and Likely To Win (Adam Merner).

The Open trot lines up in race 5 with $1,950 on the line. Freddie is the one with the target on his back leaving from post 5 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston.

The six-year-old Majestic Son trotter was defeated in this class last week by Osprey Impact but with her absent this Thursday Freddie is sure to be the favourite. Frill Seeker defeated this class earlier in the season and gets post 2 this week for trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault while Holy Molie Maggie (Walter Cheverie) is fresh off a pair of third places finishes from post 3.

Race 7 has a newcomer to Charlottetown in the $1,650 event as Swingin Swan leaves from post 5 for driver Myles Heffernan, co-owner and trainer Rachel Andrew of Milton and Denise Andrew of Calgary, Alta. The four-year-old boasts 12 lifetime wins from just 42 starts but remains empty in the win column this season.

This Saturday and Sunday marks the return of the $100,000 Dash for Cash promotion which also includes a host of secondary prizes. For Complete details go to
