Cleangame is an easy winner in the Grand National du Trot at Saint Malo

The 5/10 favorite Cleangame (6g Ouragon de Celland-Red Bell) won today’s eighth leg of the Grant National du Trot Paris-Turf (Gr. III, purse 90,000 euro, 2950 meters, 18 starters) timed in 1.12.9kr with trainer Jean Michel Bazire aboard.

Ecurie J.M. Rancoule owns the winner now with 17 victories in 30 career starts for 498,470 euro earned. 15/1 Aldo d’Argentre (8m Qualimo de Vandel) was second with Adrien Lamy driving. The 8.7/1 Copernic de Play (6g Giant Cat) took third for owner/trainer/driver Franck Blandin. 21/1 Coup Droit and 23/1 Chicago Blue were fourth and fifth.

This race was the day’s Quinte+ event and the payoff was 1,049.60 for an exact order ticket, plus there was a jackpot winner who earned an additional 1 million euro.

Yesterday (August 7) was the Prix des Hetres (purse 70,000 euro, 2750 meters distance handicap,13 starters) and 3.6/1 Django Riff (5m Ready Cash-Rasta Perrine) returned to action at Cabourg with a 1.13.5kr victory in which he overcame a 25 meter handicap. Yoann Lebourgeois teamed the Philippe Allaire trainee that Elisabeth Allaire owns.

In this his fourth 2018 start Django earned career win 17 now for 1,234,100 euro earned. 1.3/1 favorite Detroit Castelets (5m Neoh Jiel) was second with Matthieu Abrivard up for trainer J.L. Dersoir and Ecurie Luck. 3.1/1 Direct Way (5g Quaker Jet-Queen Flore) ended third for David Thomain, trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Jacques Pauc. Dreammoko finished seventh in this good field.
