Dorgos De Guez beats Elvis Madrik to the wire at Saint-Malo

The 8th leg of the Grand National du Trot Paris-Turf (purse 85,000€, 2950 meters, 16 starters, Quinte+ race of the day) was held this day at Saint-Malo. Jean Michel Bazire teamed his 3/5 favorite Dorgos de Guez (6g Romcok de Guez-Lady Fromentro) to victory clocked in 1.14.2kr, his 18th career win in 40 starts, now for 463,830€ in life earnings.

Ecurie Vautors bred and owns this Bazire trainee. The 6.3/1 Elvis Madrik (5g Overtrick) was second with Franck Nivard at the lines and third was 111/1 Beau de Grimoult (8g Pacifique Gede) with pilot Franck Anne.

The 26/1 Belle Louis and 50/1 Cantin de L’Ecl completed the top five leading to a Q+ exact order payoff of 28,642.80€ to 41 winning ticketholders.

The Q+ pool was 3,418,311€ and the total wagered on this race was 7,417,000€.

On the weekend is Saturday’s Aby Stora Prix (purse 390,000€, 3140 meters, 12 starters) at Goteborg. A top field is assembled for this marathon classic including Propulsion.
