Several top-level trots were on stage today on a rainy day at Kincsem Park but the action was brisk.

The Laszlo Fekete Memorial started the action (purse 700,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart) with a rallying nose victory by 63.9/1 Grand Illusion (7g Andover Hall-Maryanna K-Yankee Glide) in 1.17.3kr. Thorsten Tietz catch drove the winner for trainer Emil Csordas, the first win in seven 2020 starts.

Another long shot, 64.8/1 Longines (6f Conway Hall-Kentucky Love Song-Valley Victor) set the pace and held gamely for Gyorgy Horvath and trainer Imre Fazekas for second place. 12.7/1 Zapato (5m Frullino Jet-Diatomea PL-Friendly Face) was third for trainer/driver Tibor Hajnal.

The Istvan Szegedy Memorial (purse 1,200,000Huf, 1900 meters autostart) saw Alfa Boy (4m Racino-Chippychip T-Defi D’Aunou) score is 1.18.1kr with Csaba Lakatos up for trainer Tibor Hajnal. Off at 72.4/1 the winner rallied past 3.5/1 Zitti Tutti (5f Napoleon-Isolo d’ASrno-Coktail Jet) reined by Veljko Mazsity. Third was 2.7/1 Vital RG (6m SJs Photo-Vitesse OR-Indro Park) handled by Tibor Hajnal.

 

Alfa Boy

The Hungaria DIJ (purse 3,480,000Huf, 2560 meters distance handicap) went to the 40-meter penalized 7.4/1 odds Maugli (4g El Nino-Mariska Vita-Zerberus) clocked in 1.19.3kr and reined by trainer Janko Sagaj. He now has two wins in Hungary from two starts this year for this grand gaited performer.

The 11/1 odds Banaparte Boss (3g Napoleon-Nikita-Crown Sweep) was second for trainer/driver Veljko Mazsity and he traveled the programmed distance. The 27.5/1 odds and 40-meter age handicapped Atomanti M (4m Cigar Dan-Step By Step-Allison Hollow) took third for Goran Zolnaji.

The featured Jozsef Marschell Memorial (Gr. III, purse 9,000,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart) went to 1.14.4kr timed and 4.3/1 odds Victory Knick (8g Cantab Hall-Lapponia Knick) handled by Thorsten Tietz for German trainer Robert Gramuller. This was his first win in Hungary from three starts after recently winning at Bologna and Torino.

The 3.7/1 Amy del Duomo (4f Daguet Rapide-Lily dei Duomo-Muscles Yankee) took second for Vladimir Pribic, also her trainer. Third was 8.3/1 Zeal di Girifalco (5m Igor Font-Inviata d’Italia-Varenne) for trainer/driver Veljko Mazsity. Past winner of this race are shown below. Winner driver Tietz, a leading driver in Germany, also won the nightcap with Under World (7g Racino-Zaba-Yankee Class) in 1.19.4kr for trainer Emil Csordas.
