Barbue was an easy winner in the Prix Les Sables d’Olonne

Tuesday’s Q+ at Les Sables d’Olonne was the Prix Les Sables d’Olonne (purse 35,000 euro, 2775 meters, 16 European starters) with 20/1 Barbue (7f Hermes du Buisson-Harengere) the winner for driver Anthony Barrier. Race time was 1.13.3kr.

The 33/1 Ulhior du Beziau(10m Orsy Dream) was second ahead of 13/1 Charmante Fierte (6f Quaro) and J.Ph. Monclin. 13/1 Cash Okay (6m Ready Cash) and 3/2 favorite Blues des Landiers completed the top five and led to an exact order winning ticket payoff of 16,327 euro.

The Prix du Chateau d’Olonne (purse 26,000 euro, 2650 meters autostart, 15 European starters) went to 1.13.6kr timed and 9/10 favorite Eldrick Boko (7m Cantab Hall-Radiant Lindy) with trainer Matthieu Abrivard up for owner Natalia Becsmertnaya of Italy.

The 9/1 Akir de Mai (8g Kid de Chenu) held second for Anthony Barrier and third was 20/1 Always Perfect (8g Prodigious-Oh Butterfly) for breeder/owner/trainer/driver Julien Dubois.

On Saturday at Vicky driver Jean Michel Bazire increased his driving win today to 6,004. He passed the 5,000 mark in 2014 and remains at the top annually among reinsman in France. Bazire has also had significant training success with European trotting stalwarts Aubrion du Gers and Belina Josselyn.
