WASHINGTON, PA, Sept. 28, 2020 -- Enzio overpowered the leader near the three-quarters and went on to spring a 9-1 upset in Monday's harness racing feature at The Meadows, a $10,800 Conditioned Trot.

Whats The Word, the 3-5 favorite, was parked through an opening quarter in 27.1, leaving him vulnerable late. When Chris Shaw sent Enzio first up from third, the favorite could offer no resistance. Enzio scored in a career-best 1:54.1, 1-1/4 lengths better than Foxy Trottin Stick, with Rising MVP third.

Kelly Paver trains Enzio, a 4-year-old Neely Dunn-Charged Freight gelding who won for the eighth time this year, and owns with Julie Davis.

Dan Rawlings piloted three winners on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Tuesday when the 13-race program features a $39,521.84 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5 and a $5,000 total-pool guarantee for the Early Pick 4 (race 3). First post is 12:45 PM.
