CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - A power move off the gate sealed the deal for Hes Marvalous as he wired the featured pace Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Myles Heffernan Sr., was in the bike for the 1:57 victory for trainer Myles Heffernan Jr., and owner Jackie Heffernan of Summerville. The $2,400 event saw Hes Marvalous sent hard from the start and lay out fractions of 28.1, 57.4 and 1:27.1 while heeding no challenges before a one-and-one-quarter length win. Likely To Win (Driven by Adam Merner) rode the pocket to finish second with Harbourlite Jerry (Steven Shepherd) completing the triactor.

Trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault captured the early daily double with his charges as Emilys Angel was a 2:00.4 victor and Richsnortherndream was a going away winner in 2:01.1.

The 'King' of Island racing visited the winner's circle three times on the 11-dash program including a pair of wins from his own Charlottetown barn. Charlottes Western delivered a neck decision in 1:59.1 while Unapoletically was a winner in 1:58.3, both from the Campbell stable. His other win was with Mach An Angel in 2:00 for trainer Rocky Schurman of Summerside.

Star Photo continued his undefeated reign on red soil in winning the $2,400 Open trot for driver Jason Hughes, trainer Kevin Gillis and owners Robi Hughes, Eric MacLauchlan and James Perrot of Stratford and Blair MacLauchlan of Charlottetown. Time of the mile was 1:59.1.

Wager was $28,668
