Greene County Fair set for June 15-22

CARROLLTON – The 167th Greene County Fair is planned June 15-22 in Carrollton.

The FFA Livestock show starts at 8 a.m. Friday, June 14, with a breakfast for 4-H families at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15, followed by the 4-H show. A BBQ cook-off also starts at 8 a.m. with food available starting at noon and judging at 4:30 p.m.

A kids tractor pull starts at 5 p.m. with free ice cream at 4. Mud bogs begin at 5 p.m., with the 4-H auction at 6 and fireworks at 9. Longmeyer Band will perform 9 p.m. to midnight in the beverage garden.

The Western Horse Show starts at noon Sunday, June 16. The Art Hall will be open 5-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

On Monday, June 17, the sheep show starts at 8 a.m. The pageant for Little Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Greene County Fair is at 7 p.m. in the grandstand. The 2018 Little Miss Ava Kniser, Junior Miss Abby Flowers and Miss Green County Fair Alex Roberts also will be honored.

Harness racing starts at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, and continues at noon on Wednesday, June 19. Also on June 19, the steer weigh-in starts at 8:30 a.m., a karaoke contest is at 7 p.m. and a rodeo starts, with fireworks, starts at 7 p.m.

The beef and swine shows start at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 20, with the truck and tractor pull at 6:30 p.m. The goat show starts at 8 a.m. Friday, June 21. A demo derby is at 7 p.m. with music by LEDSLED at 8 p.m. in the beverage garden.

A mud drag starts at 7 p.m, Saturday, June 22, with a band yet to be named performing at 8 p.m. The Art Hall is open 5-7 p.m.

In celebration of the Farm Bureau’s 100th anniversary, they are offering a $250 prize split to those willing to bring Farm Bureau items to display in the Art Hall during fair week.
