WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 30 — Dismissed at 7-1, Maewegonow stalked the leader from the pocket, then knifed through the sloppy Lightning Lane to capture Monday’s harness racing feature at The Meadows, a $10,800 Conditioned Trot.

Maewegonow sat patiently for Dan Rawlings while Town Victor took the field through the early fractions. But the 6-year-old daughter of Deweycheatemnhowe-Mauresmo was stronger through the stretch, downing Town Victor by a length in 1:55.4. Jessiejesorjessica finished third.

Rich Perfido trains the winner, who vaulted over $400,000 in career earnings, for Win Rhythm Stables.

Brady Brown and Jim Pantaleano each collected three wins on the 13-race card. Two of Brown’s victories were of the spectacular variety, as he scored at 25-1 and 12-1.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Tuesday when the 13-race program features a pair of carryovers — $2,451.49 in the final-race Super Hi-5, $1,867.20 in the Pick 5 (race 8). First post is 12:45 PM.
