Cream Ridge, NJ - The Standardbred Retirement Foundation's (SRF) Holiday Fun at the Farm this past Saturday (11/16) hosted a large crowd of guests and offered much fun for all, but the big hit was Horse Plop Bingo.

When 11-year-old, Big Boy Toz, Dylan ( a tag number from a kill pen whose tattoo we cannot read), and 7 year old Cheyenne Western entered the Bingo ring, it took about four minutes to crown a winner. Each five-dollar donation offered a number on the Bingo grid in hopes that the horse would drop his plop right there. Arlene Santhouse, one of SRF's wonderful adopters was the winner of a $250 Amazon gift card!

War Cloud, a towering 17.2 hand gelding hung over the stall guard all day nuzzling every pair of eyes on him. Another strappy fellow, Northern Patriot, blind in one eye, did just the same. Riders from the Rockland County Mounted Police unit, who have SRF horses, brought their children and checked out a few new prospects. A few supportive racehorse owners joined as well, and what a loss for harness racing not to capitalize on the affection the general public has for these horses. The few owners in attendance saw that firsthand.

The firepit to keep warm, toasting marshmallows, the gift auction, roping demonstration, and the numerous horses shown under Western and English tack were all hits.

Numerous college students, regular volunteers at SRF; Delran, and Point Pleasant High School volunteers; and about two dozen other wonderful folks giving of their time made it all come together. SRF appreciates all the support for the event, donors, volunteers, and guests.
