MILTON,ON -  February 17, 2020 - As Tuesday's (February 18) stakes nomination deadline looms, Woodbine Entertainment would like to remind connections of two-year-old harness racing trotters of the increased purse and Mohawk Million slot connected with the William Wellwood Memorial.

The winner of this year's William Wellwood Memorial (to be contested on September 12) will be awarded the tenth and final slot in the inaugural Mohawk Million at no cost. The Mohawk Million for two-year-old trotters will be contested two-weeks after the Wellwood Memorial on September 26.

Woodbine Entertainment's marquee two-year-old trotting stakes are even more lucrative in 2020 with the addition of a Mohawk Million slot and purse increase to $610,000 for the Wellwood Memorial.

Making a two-year-old trotting filly eligible to the Peaceful Way will also keep the door open to harness racing's new rich event.

The connections of a two-year-old trotting filly eligible to the Peaceful Way will be able to enter the Wellwood Memorial in hopes of winning the final slot in the Mohawk Million by paying a $5,000 starting fee.

Nominations for the William Wellwood Memorial, Peaceful Way and all major stakes are due Tuesday (February 18), which is also the final day to submit a purchase contract and $55,000 payment for the opportunity to purchase a slot in the Mohawk Million.
