The impressive Fleche du Yucca (5f Prodigious-Vincenza) took a give and go strategy to rally for victory timed in 1.14.1kr. Jean Philippe Dubois teamed the Ecurie Victoria Dreams mare that Philippe Moulin trains to her 12th career victory now for 269,170€ earned. She has a 1-1-1 slate in her four 2020 appearances. This unchecked mare raced without front shoes. The 25- meter handicapped Drole de Jet (7m Coktail Jet-Likely Jet) was a game second timed in 1.13.6kr for trainer/driver Pierre Vercruysse. Victory went to Girolamo (4m Uriel Speed-Seduction d’Anama) with Franck Ouvrie up timed in 1.12.8kr. This Sylvain Roger trainee that Noel Lolic owns now has a 2-1-1 slate in four 2020 starts and five career wins for 148,170€ earned. Stablemare Gimy du Pommereux (4m Coktail Jet-Noune du Pommereux) was next for Mathieu Mottier for the same connections and Lolic was the breeder. Gelati Cut (4m Coktail Jet-Variety Cut) took third with Alexandre Abrivard up for trainer R.C. Larue. Girolamo The Prix Heraclite (Gr. III, 2850 meters, four-year old European females) was next with All Wise As (4f Varenne-Temple Blue Chip) the 1.14.1kr winner for Gabriele Gelormini, trainer H.E. Bondo and owner Peter Wilhemsen. This was her first win in FR and her career earnings are now 140,103€. Gamme de Busset (4f Brillantissime-Ovelinotte d’Ylea) held on gamely for second with David Thomain up for trainer Philippe Allaire, with third to Greyline (4f Sam Bourbon-Si Seulement) for owner/trainer/driver Julien Dubois. All Wise As The Gr. II Prix Kalmia (purse 85,000€, 2700 meters, three tear olds) went to Helgafell (3m Charly du Noyer-Baaria) was an impressive 1.13.8kr timed winner for Eric Raffin, trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Ecurie Normandy Spirit. March 10, 2018 - 58/1 Arthuro Boy (8m LeRetour-Guyane) carried engineer Charles J. Bigeon to victory in today’s Le Croise Laroche featured Grand Prix Charles Desrousseaux (purse €40,000, 2825 meters distance handicap, 14 International starters), clocked in 1.15.5kr. Yves Breux bred, owns and trains the winner. 16/1 Valse Mika (9f Niky-Ellamika) took second for breeder/trainer Sylvain Roger, ahead of the great veteran 6.7/1 Ustinof du Vivier (10g Look de Star-Melba du Vivier) reined by Rick Ebbinge for Belgium based Union Stable. He and fourth finishing Akim du Cap Vert (8m First de Retz) with Franck Anne up were timed in 1.14.9kr as they face distance penalties. 8,6/1 Best du Hauty, 31/1  Ustang Ludois and 2.1/1 favorite Cobra Bleu completed the top seven to the line. Be there at Cagnes sur Mer tomorrow for the Gr. I Grand Criterium de Vitesse that includes Bold Eagle and Bird Parker over the one mile sprinter distance for a €200,000 purse. Thomas H. Hicks      

Monday’s action at Le Croise Laroche was led by the Prix Ganymede (purse €22,000, 2825 meters, 16 starters) and the 1.17.9kr timed winner was 10/1 Bonheur Nocturne (7g Ni Ho Ped d’Ombree-Rencontre Joyeuse) clocked in 1.17.9kr. Pierre Vercruysse teamed the winner for trainer Guy Verva. 3.4/1 Banquro (7g Ready Cash-Le Suedoise) was second for Guillermo Roig-Balaguer, the trainer/driver. 5.9/1 Beatnik Turgot (7g Otello Pierji-Harpe d’Or) took third for Florian Desmigneux driving for trainer B.J. Crebas. Vercruysse returned a winner with 6.2/1 Elixir Castelets (4m Coktail Jet-Ophelie Jet)  in the Prix Poroto (purse €15,000, 2700 meters autostart, 16 starters)  timed in 1.16.7kr. Elixir Castelets The owner/trainer  is Yannick Desmet of the winner defeated even money Eliazure (4f Ready Cash-Ticola Williams)  driven by Rick Ebbinge for trainer Paul Hagoort and owner Jos. November 3, 2017 - Well regarded Cobra Bleu (5m Fortuna Fant-Nuit Irisee) returned in victory today at Le Croise Laroche, winning the harness racing Grand Prix du Nord 5Ans (purse €40,000, 2825 meters distance handicap, 10 starters) clocked in 1.15.3kr. Pierre Vercruysse drove Cobra Bleu, one that he also trains, for breeder/owner Nathalie Chepdelaine. The 2/5 favorite overcame a 25 meter handicap, and after catching his rivals, staged a four wide move to the lead with a lap remaining, to defeat 7/1 Chic (5f Look de Star-Marine du Hausey), Franck Nivard up,  and 10/1 Coeur de Loup (5g Jet Fortuna-Otra Luna) reined by trainer Philippe Deaugeard. Cobra Bleu scored his second 2017 win in only three starts and now has 10 career victories for €442,640 earned. Cobra Bleu is one to watch at the Vincennes Winter Meet. He has shown up before, placing second last Christmas day in the Criterium Continental and he won Gr. II events such as the Prix Phaeton and Prix Ephrem Houel, also in 2016. Evening racing this day at Paris-Vincennes was highlighted by the Quinte+ Prix Barbara (purse €48,000, 2100 meters autostart, 18 starters) that resulted in a 1.13.3kr timed victory by 43/1 Agi de Crenes (7g Joyou d’Amour-Ovation de Crennes) reined by J.P. Maillard. 8.2/1 Atout de Gainaut (7g Gazouillis) was next for Eric Raffin and third was 4.7/1 Aquero de Soudes (7g Dahir de Prelong) for Alain Laurent. Monday the Paris-Vincennes afternoon program will be worth tracking with its three Gr. II events and other meaningful contests. May 24, 2017 - Charles J. Bigeon teamed 1.4/1 favorite Afghan Barbes (7g Meaulnes du Corta-Nuance) to victory in today’s fifth leg of Gr. III Grand National du Trot Pars-Turf, this day held at Le Croise Laroche. 17 upper level trotters battled over the 2800 meter distance handicapped distance for a total purse of €90,000. The winner recorded his 12th career victory in 37 starts now for €313.660 earned. The 1.13.9kr timed winner, trained by Christian Bigeon for owner Andre Francis Bigeon, bested 78/1 Violine Mourotaise (8f LeRetour-Mourotaise) driven by Julien Dubois for trainer Emmanuel Rauulline. Third was 58/1 Voeland (8m Ni Ho Ped d’Ombree-Oquita d’Harcourt) with Rik Dupuydt aboard for trainer Marc De Cock and Stall Campus. The 25 meter penalized Ursa Major was fourth at 56/1 and Vanae des Voirons ended fifth at 63/1. This event was the Quinte+ race of the day, with a nice payoff (below). Wednesday’s harness racing Quinte+ Grand Prix Federation Regionale du Nord (purse €100,000, 2700 meters autostart, 14 international starters) resulted in an impressive 1.11.4kr win for 13/1 Dante Boko (6g Going Kronos-Margherita Rosa). This one raced barefoot and was an open length winner for Adrian Kolgjini, trainer Lutfi Kolgjini and Stall Be The Best. 4.1/1 Briac Dark (5m Prince Gede-Queen des Charmes) took second for Franck Anne, also trainer, for Ecurie Guy Barou. 1.7/1 favorite Anna Mix (6f Ludo de Castelle-Ires) was third for owner/driver Franck Leblanc and driver Franck Nivard. Duke of Greenwood, Valko Jenilat and Voltigeur de Myrt were the next three across the finish line. Also at Le Croise Laroche was the Prix Leopold Verroken (purse €32,000, 2700 meters autostart, 16 European starters) and the 1.13.7kr winner was barefoot 3/2 favorite Vitesse du Val (7f Super Photo Kosmos-Jenny Kiss) with Franck Ouvrie up. 48/1 Cuba Cohiba (8f Scarlet Knight-Hananna’s Hanna) was second ahead of 63/1 Tesaco de Pont (9g Kesaco Phedo-Ma Soiree du Pont) with trainer Alexis Garandeau driving. Wednesday at Solvalla was the ASVT Trottex Auktionslopp for 240,000SEK to the winner, one division for the fillies and colts, raced over 1640 meters autostart, each for the same first money. The filly division went to 1.16.3kr timed Staro Lochlyn (2f Varenne-Loch Ness Broline-Andover Hall) trained by Svante Bath and teamed by Erik Adielsson at 5.7/1. This was her initial career. Vasterbo Rainbow (2f Brioni-Victoria ROK-Super Arnie) took second for Joakim Lovgren, also trainer, and third was Restless (2f Ready Cash-Grail Lady Ann-Supergill) for trainer/driver Ake Lindblom. The colt division went to 24.6/1 Mr. Deauville (2g Prodigious-Glimma du Ling-Running Sea) for trainer/driver Mattias Djuse. Timed in 1.15kr this one bested Ripkin Joe (2m Ken Warkentin-Maggie Qvickstep-Wired Pine) handled by Bjorn Goop with third to Chapuy (2g Quite Easy-Popcorn Lavec-Enjoy Lavec) for Ake Lindblom, trainer/driver. Today’s Paris-Vincennes featured Quinte+ Prix de Mehun Sur Yavre (purse €50,000, 2100 meters autostart, 18 European starters) went to 51/1 Ochongo Face (5g Kiss Francais-Jubel Kemp) for driver Franck Ouvrie, trainer Bjorn Goop and Ecurie Abron 35 AB. 8.4/1 Bar d’Or (5g Orlando Vici-Star du Donjon) was second for trainer/driver Alexis Garandeau. 4.2/1 King Sur Kir (5m Make It Happen-Kings Blondie) was third with Franck Nivard aboard. Today’s €40,000 Grand Prix Charles Desrousseaux over 2825 meters drew 11 international harness racing starters at Hippodrome Le Croise Laroche. 6.1/1 Africaine (6f Oiseau de Feux-Italiene) recorded the quick 1.12.7kr victory for reinsman Pierre Vercruysse and owner/trainer Jean-Etienne Dubois. 14.8/1 Ugo de Nieul (8m Cygnus d’Odyssee-Marmonie de Nieul) was second for trainer/driver Romain Derieux with 5.6/1 Adelia de Melodia (6f Lilium Madrik-Piccola Stella) third for Franck Ouvrie. 9/10 favorite Swedishman (10g Gogo-Volgana) was fourth for Thierry Duvaldestin. At Kincsem Park the 600,000Huf Varga Henriett Memorial over 1960 meters went to the fast closing Harlynda (7f Abano As-Sparkling-Coktail Jet) for trainer/driver Veljko Mazszity. This winner recorded victory 14 and 30 starts. Samuel Becket AT (4m Diablo Va Bene-Simb Lorrikeet-Pearsall Hanover) was second driven by trainer Tibor Hajnal.
