Elkton, MD - Post Time with Mike and Mike is excited to announce the harness racing nominees for the 2018 Post Time with Mike and Mike awards. Mike and Mike would like to thank the fans of harness racing who took time out to nominate their favorite person or horse for each award. We were flooded with nominations for each category and used a panel of five to help narrow the nominees to six in each category. Voting begins on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 12:00 and will end on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 12:00. Elkton, MD - Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by the USTA/BetAmerica, is excited to announce their line-up for Thursday morning (November 28) at 10:30 a.m. The show will be highlighted by the Post Time with Mike and Mike awards nominations being announced. Also joining the program will be Aaron Merriman, who just scored his 1,000th win of the season; Pete Medhurst, the track announcer at Rosecroft Raceway; and Andrew Harris, trainer of Jimmy Freight. Voting begins for the 2018 Post Time with Mike and Mike awards on Thursday, beginning at 12:00. A separate release will be sent on Thursday with all of the details on how to vote, who is nominated, and the biographies for each nominee. Merriman, who scored his 1,000th win in 2018 on Saturday joins the program to talk about his career accomplishment. Merriman became the first driver in history to accomplish the feat twice, he will discuss how it felt to reach that milestone and what he may be looking forward to next in his career. Medhurst, the announcer at Rosecroft Raceway, will join to discuss the 2018 Potomac Pace which has drawn a pretty impressive field. The race, which is the track's signature event, has historically drawn some of harness racing's best Open pacers. Medhurst will also get his first opportunity to announce a race with the great Foiled Again participating. He will talk about what that feeling means to him and if his style will change at all for the race. Harris, the trainer of Jimmy Freight, will discuss the champion three-year-old's season thus far and how he has been training heading into Thursday night's Hap Hansen Progress Pace at Dover Downs. Mike and Mike will air a replay of the 2017 Post Time awards show as the duo leads up to their 2018 program. The program be available on their website beginning at 10:30 a.m. The program returns on Thursday (Nov. 29) at 10:30 a.m. with the announcement of nominations for the 2018 Post Time with Mike and Mike Awards. Daley will talk about what went into the decision of moving back and what fans can expect from his new stable. Grubbs, who won the Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge, will join this week to discuss some of his handicapping tips and how he applies those to harness racing. Grubbs is a prominent horse gambler in the sport and will provide some insight into what angles he uses to help handicap the races. Pennacchio, joins the program to talk about the state of horse racing in Florida and to talk some about his amateur driving career. Elkton, MD -- Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by BetAmerica is excited to announce that the nominations for the 2018 Post Time with Mike and Mike awards are now open. Listeners can access the nomination form on the Post Time Awards mini-site at http://www.posttimewithmikeandmike.com/post-time-with-mike-and-mike-awards.html. Nominations will be taken for the following categories: USTA Innovator of the Year, Ted Barcus Race Fan of the Year, Larry Rheinheimer Small Stable of the Year, Sam McKee Race Call of the Year, Horsewomen of the Year, Foiled Again Iron Horse of the Year (Foiled Again not eligible), and Upset of the Year. Anyone can be nominated for any of the categories with the exception of the Iron Horse of the Year award. For that award we are looking for horses who are either 13 or 14 years of age and have at least 175 starts during their racing careers. A short biography is required with each nomination and only one nomination for each category per person. Nominations will be open until Noon on Wednesday (Nov. 21). Voting for the awards will begin at Noon on Thursday (Nov. 29) and run until noon on Wednesday (Dec. 19). The 2018 Post Time with Mike and Mike Awards will be on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Kakaley, who scored his first ever Breeders Crown win, joins to talk about the emotions of winning his first Crown. Kakaley who had two victories on Saturday night (Percy Bluechip & Dorsoduro Hanover) discusses both trips and what the wins meant to him follow a near career-ending injury earlier in 2018. Tetrick, regular driver of Shartin N, will join to talk about the storied mare pacer who dominated her Breeders Crown Final. Shartin N scored her 18th win in 23 starts since coming to the United States and is trained by Jim King Jr. Clements, who created Catch Driver, joins to talk about his experience at EGLX, the largest gaming expo in Canada. He will discuss his experience and some of the new ideas he learned from the expo. Post Time with Mike and Mike sponsored by BetAmerica is excited to announce their broadcast schedule for the 2018 Breeders Crown. The 2018 Breeders Crown finals are hosted this year by The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Joining the Post Time broadcast crew throughout the weekend will be Jessica Otten and Garnet Barnsdale both with analysis, interviews, and much more. The Post Time broadcast on Saturday night will begin at 8 p.m., and run for three hours. The duo and their broadcast team will provide analysis and insight into the Breeders Crown race with pre and post-race analysis. Otten will present winners' circle reaction following each Breeders Crown event. Mike and Mike would like to remind their listeners that there will be a Thursday morning show featuring Hambletonian COO, Moira Fanning; The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono's Announcer, Jim Beviglia; and Race Secretary, Rick Kane. From a gamblers perspective, there will be several wagers that will feature healthy guaranteed pools. Gamblers will also be playing into reduced takeout pools which will each feature a low 15%. Elkton, MD --- Post Time with Mike and Mike, presented by BetAmerica, continues their live remote season on Saturday (Oct 13) with coverage of the 2018 $1,000,000 Yonkers International Trot from Yonkers Raceway.   The International Trot field is full of talent including Triple Crown winner, Marion Marauder; 2018 Elitloppet winner, Ringostarr Treb; and 2015 Prix d' Amerique champion Up And Quick.   Mike and Mike will have extensive coverage of The Yonkers International Trot beginning at 2:30 p.m. via their website that will run for three hours. Joining the duo will be co-host Jessica Otten who will provide analysis, with pre- and post-race analysis.   Also being offered is a Pick 4 being offered in conjunction with the New York Racing Association (NYRA) that encompasses two races at Belmont Park and two races at Yonkers Raceway. Elkton, MD - Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by BetAmerica, is excited to announce their line-up for Thursday morning (October 11) at 10:30 a.m. They will be joined by Jerry Riordan, the trainer of Ringostarr Treb; Alex Dadoyan, Executive Director of the SOA of New York; and Gabe Prewitt, the announcer at the Red Mile. Riordan, the trainer of Ringostarr Treb, joins the show for the first time this week to discuss his start trotters chances in the $1 million Yonkers International Trot. Ringstarr Treb is having a big year, including a victory in the 2018 Elitlopp that is held annually in Sweden. He was cleared to race in the United States following a qualifier win on October 3rd where he was timed in 2:00.1 in a 2,200 meter qualifier (1-3/16 miles). Dadoyan, the Executive Director of the SOA of New York, will talk about the race itself and what fans can look forward too while they are on track Saturday. He will also discuss the two invitational races that Yonkers has added to the illustrious program. Prewitt, the announcer at The Red Mile, talks about the end of the Grand Circuit meet which was highlighted by Homicide Hunter's 1:48.4 mile on Saturday afternoon. Elkton, MD - Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by BetAmerica is excited to announce another addition to their live remote schedule for 2018. World-champion Foiled Again will take to the track at Shenandoah Downs on September 29 and Mike and Mike will be doing a live remote to cover the event. The broadcast from Shenandoah will begin at 2:00 PM and run for three-hours with Michael Carter and Mike Bozich calling the action from the historic track. The duo will present interviews throughout the day with the connections of Foiled Again, and some of the people facing the great champion. Foiled Again will conduct a meet and greet with fans following his race where patrons can get a photo taken with him. The weekend of September 29 and 30 features a Seafood Fest Weekend, featuring Pro Shuckers Seafood Catering from Annapolis, Maryland. They will be on site serving up Chesapeake Bay caught oysters, steamed shrimp, clams and more. Elkton, MD --- Post Time with Mike and Mike, presented by BetAmerica, continues their live remote season on Friday (Aug 21) with coverage of the 2018 Casears Trotting Classic, live from Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson, Indiana.   The Trotting Classic, which features 2018 Horse of the Year Hannelore Hanover is stacked with talent who will be trying to take down the $200,000 prize. Crazy Wow (Marcus Melander) draws to her inside coming off a strong victory in the Maple Leaf Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park.   Mike and Mike will have extensive coverage of The Casears Trotting Classic beginning at 8:00 p.m. via their website that will run for three hours. Elkton, MD - Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by BetAmerica, will be taking a behind the scenes look at The Little Brown Jug Thursday morning (September 20) at 10:30 a.m. They will be joined by Dave Brower, who is part of the broadcast team; Jason Settlemoir, the Simulcast Director and Asst. Announcer; and Missy Rothfuss, the Outrider at the Delaware, Ohio oval. Brower, who is also a member of the Meadowlands broadcast team, took over for the late Sam McKee as part of the Little Brown Jug broadcast in 2017. Brower will talk about what goes on behind the scenes during the telecast. Settlemoir, General Manager at The Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment, will join the program to talk about his role on the Little Brown Jug team, which includes Simulcast Director and Asst. Announcer. Rothfuss, who is also the Outrider at The Meadows, will talk about her responsibilities on the race track, which includes keeping the horses, horsemen and horsewomen safe. She will touch on all aspects of outriding, as well as her personal feelings on what it means to work the Little Brown Jug. Elkton, MD - Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by BetAmerica, is excited to announce their line-up for Thursday morning (August 30) at 10:30 a.m. They will be joined by Mitchell Cushing, a regular driver on the Maine circuit; Casie Coleman, trainer of champion McWicked, Garrett Bell, General Manager at Winbak Farm; and Darin Gagne, the track announcer at Running Aces Casino and Racetrack Cushing, a regular driver on the Maine circuit, became a household name on Monday when he scored during the Windsor Fair with world-champion Foiled Again. Cushing joins the program to discuss how he got into the sport of harness racing and to take the duo through his trip with the big horse. McWicked was able to score the upset over Lazarus N on Saturday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park in the Canadian Pacing Derby. Trainer Casie Coleman joins the program to talk about her star horse and what may be next for him. Garrett Bell, General Manager at Winbak Farm, will talk about the upcoming Goshen Sale on Saturday, September 9th. Winbak is currently second in wins and earnings for a breeder this season.
